Due to new federal banking regulations, we've changed how we service your account. We generally will not pay your one-time debit card purchases and ATM transactions if they would overdraw your account — creating inconvenient situations for you. But if you enroll in Sovereign Account Protector, we will be authorized to pay ATM transactions and one-time debit card purchases — even if they overdraw your account — and charge overdraft fees*. There is no guarantee that all overdrafts will be paid.
|
Your paycheck is scheduled for direct deposit on Friday and you stop to pick up a few things at the store Thursday night. When you try to pay for your purchases, your debit card is declined due to insufficient funds.
|
You're on your way home and notice that your "low fuel" light has turned on. You stop at a gas station, but when you try to pay at the pump with your debit card, your authorization is declined.

Please allow 1 to 2 days for processing your Sovereign Account Protector election.
There is no enrollment fee for enrolling in Sovereign Account Protector. Enrolling in Sovereign Account Protector means you are authorizing Sovereign to process ATM withdrawals and transfers and one-time debit card transactions that potentially overdraw your account, and to charge our standard overdraft fees.
We will charge you a fee of up to $35 each time we pay an overdraft. There is a limit of 6 fee’s per day we can charge you for overdrawing your account.
An additional one-time fee of $35 will be charged on the 6th consecutive business day your account is overdrawn. This charge only
applies to checking accounts (other than any Premier Checking Accounts); the fee for consumer savings and money market savings
accounts will be $5 per day, beginning on the 6th consecutive business day the account is overdrawn.
